I bought the Ointment 1 and Ointment 2 for my 3 year old son's chronic eczema/food allergy. We started with Ointment 2 (2oz) and it did not last us 4 days. I was really dissapointed at how long it lasted us. Also, the consistentcy of the cream was dissapointing. When we were halfway throught the little jar, the ointment was coarse and gritty, considering this cream is for people with eczema, I have to shake my head at how it was not filtered thoroughly so that when applied, the grits will not agravate affected area -which it did. As for the affectiveness of the cream, i can see improvements on my son's affected areas after one application. After running out, and not applying , his skin got bad again. I just wished it lasted a week longer. I've started ointment 1 a couple of days later ( 2 oz ) and same results. I'm considering to order more and try again soon, but it will cost a bit. But hey, anything for the kido..

We do not filter out the powdered herbs from our EczeHerbal Ointments. We have found clinically that the product is much more effective when we leave the herbs in it. It is advised to apply a thin layer of the ointment to affected skin and allow the skin to absorb it...no need to "rub it in" (that certainly can feel uncomfortable). That being said, we do our best to sieve the powdered herbs before adding to the oils, to ensure that only the smallest particles are used in the ointment. In a few recent batches of herbs, the overall particle size was larger than usual...we were dissatisfied with this, but were unable to powder them any finer and chose to go forward making the ointment with this batch of herbs. Future batches should have finer particles. Regarding how fast the product was used up, this is why we offer 4 oz. jars. And if a large area of skin is involved, we often recommend our EczeHerbal Coconut Oil as it easier to spread over larger swaths of skin (the EczeHerbal Coconut Oil IS FILTERED, so there are no herb particles - a good option if your son's skin found them irritating before). I commend you though - you must have been applying it often enough to use it up so fast...good for you! Sometimes parents do not apply the ointment often enough (3 to 5 times daily) and then they do not get as good results.
